Jen Alison Lewis has had the honor of working with Writers at Play since they were mere school chums. She can often be found directing and acting around town. Currently she coaches actors; performs for schools with Theatre Espresso; records voice-over; acts in new play readings (ahem); and mothers two awesome trouble-making urchins. Favorite theatre roles include Dogberry in Much Ado (It’s a Fiasco); Legally Dead (BPT); Kate in Taming of the Shrew; Living Out (Lyric Stage); and the sell-out The Friends of Eddie Coyle (Stickball Productions). Proud member of Actors’ Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, and StageSource.
Robert D. Murphy is a Boston-based actor and playwright. For the past 20 years, he has performed with many of Boston’s top stage companies. In 2014, he was awarded the IRNE Awards for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical (Merlin / Pellinore in CAMELOT at New Repertory Theatre) and Best Ensemble (OPERATION EPSILON produced by the Nora Theatre Company). His plays have been produced in the Boston Theatre Marathon and many other local festivals and are been published by Smith & Kraus. He has served on the Board of Directors for STAGESOURCE, is a current Board member of the THEATRE COMMUNITY BENEVOLENT FUND, and is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA. “I’ve been reading for playwriting classes and groups for at least a decade. I’ve read early scraps of dialogue that grew into plays that have been produced both in Boston and beyond. Many of the productions on my acting resume are the harrowing and heartwarming experience of bringing a new work from page to stage. I appreciate the invitation to bring to WRITERS AT PLAY the experience of an actor who feels surefooted on the construction site where new plays are crafted.”
